Uwe Rosenberg's Second Chance (Scripted)

Description
A roll (flip) & write game by legendary designer Uwe Rosenberg (Agricola, Bohnanza, Feast for Odin) similar to Patchwork that plays in as little as 10 minutes!
A very special thank you to Red Inferno for help with the scripting.

This mod uses colored square tiles instead of requiring a pencil tool to make it easy. If you're prefer to use the in-game drawing tool, you could use that too.

In Second Chance, each player starts with a 9×9 grid that they want to fill as completely as possible. To begin the game, everyone receives a different card with a starting tile and marks off its spaces on their grid.

Every turn, two puzzle tile cards are revealed, and each player chooses one of them, then marks off squares on their personal grid that match the shape of the image shown on their chosen card. Multiple players can choose the same card. If a player cannot fit either revealed shape into their grid, they get a second chance and reveal one card from the deck just for them. If they can fit this shape in their grid, they do continue normally next round; otherwise they are eliminated from play.

The game ends when all players have been eliminated, the deck of puzzle cards has run out, or a player has completely filled their grid. If someone has filled their grid, they win. If all players have been eliminated or the deck ran out of cards, then whoever has the fewest empty spaces wins.

I used Max M's popular Cartographers mod as a template.

@fvg08 You're right. That's the official rule, however we like choices in games like this. Choices are fun and make the game more interesting. Dealing two cards to each player and letting them decide is a popular house rule. You're free to play with whichever variant you prefer.

Great work! We had a lot of fun with your mod.

Small note: each player receives one starting tile card at the beginning of the game, instead of two.

True.

mscooper I'm aware of this but it doesn't matter because the game ends when there aren't enough cards in the deck to put two new cards on display.

Script error when the draw deck has only one card left. Otherwise, looks good!
