On the default audio settings, I found it impossible to hear anyone talking to me through local voice or radio whenever I was in a situation with gunfire or explosions or vehicles moving around.

By changing a few audio options, it is possible to solve this and be able to hear everyone talking clearly. In the screenshot you can see my audio settings with the following changes.

• Turn up local voice.
  
• Turn down squad and command radio.
  
• Turn down sound effects.

This will give the desired effect of being able to hear all team communications regardless of the situation around you. You may need to adjust master volume to suit your preference.
Furthermore, I personally prefer the radio filter off just for extra clarity when using radio chat.



As an extra note for squad leaders specifically, there is a new squad and command radio balance feature introduced around v1.0. I find it very helpful to split the command and squad radio into my left and right ears respectively so I know which channel people are talking to me on.

I hope this helps people out, especially new players, who are having a hard time communicating during firefights.
