Outset Island is a recreation of the home island featured in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Which is the island you start on once you begin playing the game, it also happens to be the home place for Link and his family.

This map was created to fit the competetive standards in Team Fortress 2 and not to be a perfect remake.
