MP5 Burst Fire for NPC's

Description
A quick edit of the MP5 config file to make the NPC's/Marines fire their MP5's in 3-5 round bursts instead of the default 8-16 round bursts, for a more classic Half-Life experience.

I have not seen anything like this on the Workshop, so I thought to post it here.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Simply take the VPK file and put it in your Custom folder, and unsubscribe for the best results. You should be able to subscribe and play with no issues, however I have found that using a Custom folder works better for BMS.

If you don't know how to set up a Custom folder, read this tutorial:

It will download into your steam/steamapps/workshop/content/XXXXX folder.
XXXXX is the numerical name for the BMS workshop folder, mine is 362890.

The VPK file name is MP5_Burst. It will have it's own numerically named folder.
For ease of use, sort your XXXXX folder by newest when you download it to find it.

It should not interfere with any MP5 retexures or sound packs you want to use.

Yeah true the combine troopers make snes since they would be augmentedmarines on the other hand would burst fire of three rounds.

Yeah, going full auto all the time may work for augmented Combine troops, but regular people...not so much.

I mean marines are typically trained to fire a few rounds in burst fire in real life though it depends on the rifle or machine guns they use.

I am glad to hear it! It is a small adjustment, but I feel it adds enough improvement to the gameplay to make a difference.

A useful mod, otherwise BM's HECU are tough, shoot non-stop and are practically accurate even when they move from side to side, even I can’t do that and I also move, catch, etc., now with the mod burst shooting from their MP5 as in the orig. H-L 1 has become more pleasant!:bms:

Thanks for your care and quick response! It seems like problem is because of me. I have also old BMS mod version in my steam folder and it looks like I was putting the files in the mod version of bms mistakenly!
So now it works! Sorry to bother you and thanks again for your help and nice mod!

@Lone Warrior I have not found any issue yet on my end. I will keep looking.

In the meantime, if you haven't done this, check your BM file integrity. There may be some files corrupted/missing since the update.

Go to your game Library > Black Mesa > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files

You may also have a mod (or mods) which may affect my mod. In which case I cannot help you.

Still, I will keep looking on my end as time permits.

Hey thanks for the heads up, I'll load up BM and check it out as it has been some time since I have played it. I'll let you know what I find.
