Yaay, automation!
Though, there now seems to be a checkbox for crates that can be marked for conversion to hard metal.
But still, this would make more sense to automate than to just convert automatically.

Okay, thanks. I have been trying to use it with the Frequency Monitor mod. Do you know if these two are compatible?

I love this mod. I'm not having any luck using it with more than one player. Is it possible to use it in multiplayer games?

It's called automation. Set up a sensor to detect hard metal reserves and have it fire up or shut down the chemical plant as needed to maintain a stockpile, you never have to convert hard metal manually again.

yes you can dig 1k of alluminum - but there will be times, where you need several millions of hard metal - and then you wont want to do it manually
