yeah, this is true. They can memorise a face for around 5 years, and they also pass the info on to others as well. so if you become known to local crows/pies as a "feeder" chances are they'll start to follow you around, ha ha.

They love nuts especially (the kind in shells like brazil nuts and stuff) they will also put the nut on the road in order for a car to run them over and break the shell.

On my way to hospital a couple of years ago, had a magpie do this on the motorway. put the nut on the road and we ran over it, then came down and picked it up, was amazing.

Magpies are very fascinating too. I heard once they have really good memories so if you feed them they will keep coming back which i find very interesting.

Yeah, Owls are cool. I think I like Corvids the best (crows and magpies, etc) but owl's are definitely very interesting. I have some nesting quite near to my house, so hear them most nights.

Crows and owls absolutely hate each other though. Apparently Owls only went nocturnal in order to avoid the crows, as they were hunting them into extinction during the daytime.
