You'll see a lot of reviews mentioning the "being stuck at 99%" screen way too long, normally well into the start of the match. This isn't the worst in quick match because they have a pre-game lobby, but weirdly enough conquest (team deathmatch) doesn't. That just feels odd, like why was that a feature that was tossed out? The art style is cool, and a lot of the characters are fun to play as and control, but Christ do some seemingly overpowered characters run rampant. I'm sure these things will be fixed, and it's free to play, but there's nothing really that this game brings to the table that another game in the genre doesn't do better.

Why do I have to link a Ubisoft account to play online? Absolutely wild, because you didnt always have to do that.

It's serviceable, and this is from someone who has seen the first two(?) Harry Potter movies. The world seems cool enough and it doesn't try to be something that it's not by making it "the biggest open world yet". I feel like I'm 60ish% through the story and its fine. I feel like I already know who the big bad guy is but I'll update this when I beat the game. Being sorted into a house is as simple as answering a couple of scenarios; which is interesting, but you can always just choose your preferred house after it all. I'm not a fan of having to be a certain level to do certain missions, whether it be due to level differences or just padding out the game by making you do side missions, but it is there. I don't really see any replay value unless you just really love this world.

You can beat the game within 2 hours but don't refund it, the developers deserve the money and I'm excited to try their other games. The game consists of clicking and doing very particular tasks while the clickold instructs you, all while talking to you about who he is, his family, desires, his dream, and the man who set it all into motion. The story isn't anything mind bending or anything, but it does feel like someone who has no shame and they sure in what they're doing now and their plan for the future. There are lines that got me, one in particular being "What would my wife say if she saw me here? She'd probably just ask why?" and then continues on about his 8 year old daughter and 3 year old son. It's worth the experience if nothing else, also the name Clickolding is genuinely good.

I mean I guess? It's so weird that this game doesn't really land in one or the other. I felt the game drag on way too often for a game who's story is as short as it is. When the game is good, it's impressive how everything comes together to create an amazing moment; however when it is in a rut, you can tell and have to push through it. The story is 20 main missions, and a few missions are there strictly to unlock abilities, so really less than 20 when it comes to fighting the Black Hand and also beating them. The bigger complaints I have are both at the end game conveniently enough, and that's the boss fight and the army building in relation to the missions and final missions. The boss is a QTE and I thought that it would be just the opening part, but no thats it lmao. It sets the story up for the sequel and I've been told that its a lot better than this, so maybe get this in the bundle and on sale? I'd feel kind of eh if I paid more than $10 for this, but maybe you'll like it more. The other complaint was that your armies and war chiefs that the game makes you do as primary missions don't really matter by then. You'd expect each main war chief, who you had to brand for the story, with each of their body guards (because why else would it matter if they served under a specific war chief), and theyre not there. I probably spent the better part of 2 hours branding each one, hoping to see my hard work pay off on the battlefield, and its just them.

It's a fun time that ends kind of abruptly and the ending feels just okay. You'll either be a fan of the horde mechanics or not, and that fine because while they're actually a threat at first, there will be a certain point in the game where they become more trivial and annoying rather than an event. By the time you get access to the horde hunting side missions, the game is almost over and unless you're trying to 100% the game, it's a little too late. I say all that to say if you find this on a good deal and you want to try it out, it's worth it for the exploration of a post world Oregon as you try to survive from zombies as well as other humans.

I wanted to try Overwatch again after not having played since the update to Overwatch 2 on PS4 and it's unfortunate. It's crazy to see the battlepass and fondly remember the lootboxes, that's borderline impressive. The team dynamic goes from 6 v 6 to 5 v 5 which changes the dynamics in not a good way. I can see why people could enjoy it, but it just fills me with memories of what it was and how much enjoyment I got from the first Overwatch. Who knows, maybe a proper story mode of sorts will be added in Overwatch 3

Damn I wish someone told me to upgrade my saucer for the final boss, but the game is great. The original was pretty linear in the sense of locations, and the remake is the same. The missions are the same but now you have optional objectives that can earn more money or the occasional skin. It looks great and haven't experienced any issues, but Id also say wait for a heavy sale unless you're a fan of challenges post level/game.

Early Access Review
Phenomenal game so far and it's only in episode one. The art style is great, the ability to tackle each level in different ways only serves to make you want to explore each map to find secrets and alternative routes. My only complaint so far might be a bug? I'm not entirely sure why, but if I load a save (e.g dying and restarting to playing it after I get off work), the map never shows back up. What I mean is that when I start a level for the first time, it's there, but any other time past that, it doesn't even register as being there on the map section of the settings. I really hope this gets fixed because currently while writing this review, I have to take a picture of the map on my phone because not having map in the game can lead to more backtracking through the level and wandering around than you may have wanted. All in all, if that bug is fixed, this will be a genuinely good game and I'm excited to see what the next two episodes hold.

Edit: They seem to have fixed the bug, I hope they win multiple awards this year
