this is a game that i didn't know i needed. i love survival games. i love class/hero based games. but i've never considered what it would be like to merge the two, but wow, this game is great. the characters are wildly different, have synergies with other characters, have entire exclusive mechanics and crafting trees, and most importantly, LOTS OF SKINS. the base game also has a ridiculous amount of content, and more content is still being added through free dlcs. the art style is unique, there are some cool mods on the workshop, and the gameplay is surprisingly fun for a 2d survival game.

i have 2 big complaints about the game, though. first, the multiplayer version of this game (which is this one) was designed with multiplayer in mind. that means if you play solo, you're gonna have a harder time. that wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that the single player version was missing a lot of the content in this game. this can somewhat be fixed with mods that lower enemy health and increase armor durability, but it makes the solo vanilla game quite challenging, which can be annoying considering this game is permadeath. and my second complaint is a REALLY big one: the multiplayer has an insane amount of delay. sometimes it's not too bad, and other times it's unplayable. considering this is supposed to be a multiplayer focused game, this is a huge problem. from what it seems like, delay has been a problem since the game came out, so idk if it's gonna get fixed. i don't recommend playing this game for multiplayer unless you and your friends have low latency connections and live within a few hundred miles of each other. otherwise, the delay will ruin the game.
