The gameplay was rather okay at terms of being a fresh start for Turn-based mechanic. Although the first playable in global was beat up, this didn't create the tension that it became boring. It just suited Ichiban's personality. I consider this one as the best yakuza game knowing that Ichiban is a better Main Character over Kiryu even though Ichiban only has this for his first game. The characters you met are so diverse with their personality and you can relate to their attitude first and foremost. I like Nanba's sharp tongue and pessimistic attitude.
Overall this game is a must play for every Ryu ga Gotoku fans. The music is outstanding that it will make your hairs stand.
