UPDATE: after nearly 4,000 hours in this game, this GAME IS COMPLETELY DEAD. all this game is now sadly is hackers. as someone who has put thousands of hours into this game and years into it along with previous installments of the title, i am very sad to see this game die and to see Valve let it rot with no postive updates besides new crates and other profitable additions. Valve is really just money hungry at this point and will milk it to the last cent with no regard for the player base or their desire for updated anti cheat.
It truly is sad, but if youre a new player looking to get into CSGO i welcome you but also warn you that all this game is is hackers and the most toxic community i have ever seen. Take my word for it, i have played from silver to global and to the competitive scene. Its not what it used to be and any enjoyment you find will not be from success. The cheats people have now are insane, i recently encountered someone with a cheat that let them use a fake head to peek around corners. A FAKE HEAD????? Then when you shoot the fake head they peek behind it and one tap you. It truly at this point is a battle of whos the best hacker. No one seems to want to put actual time into this game to achieve real skill. The only way to really enjoy this game with legit players is to purchase a monthly subscription to ESEA, which, if youre new, will just be a waste of time as youll get ♥♥♥♥ on. But, then again if youre willing to pay a monthly fee of 6.99-14.99 then this is the best way to learn. Get rekt by better players and learn from them. Its quite sad and im sad to see this game go the way it has but for now farewell CS. :,(

Pros: - if you can find a legit match with real players, its a beautiful competitive game that gets your heart rate going.
- Good mechanics with sometimes questionable hit boxes.
- Steep learning curve that makes you feel acomplished when you start becoming skilled.
- Well designed maps and graphics
- No p2w mechanics at all

Cons:
- Hacker infested.
- Insanely toxic community
- Developers who dont care about fixing the game, just making money
- Monthly subscription to esea pretty much required to find legitimate players now.
- esea unfriendly to newcomers (skill wise)
