A difficult but fun platformer/exploration game, with a unique art style, great music, and interesting atmosphere. The DLC adds a lot of content, with many new characters with unique playstyles and stories, as well as new game modes which add tons of replayability. I somewhat dislike aspects of the DLC content, with Spearmaster's campaign having many text logs which I find annoying compared to the more natural storytelling of the base game. The Remix options I also find to be a bit too skewed towards lowering the difficulty through game and UI tweaks - there are 3 presets and I find even the "Vanilla" one to be a bit much IMHO, but that can be changed by adjusting the individual settings. I personally wouldn't recommend using the Remix options on a first playthrough. Modding support looks to be great, with Workshop support and a settings page in the main menu to adjust individual mod options.

The base game's main strength but also greatest weakness is it's obtuseness; you are left mostly on your own to find out what you need to do and how to get there. This results in a frustrating yet rewarding first playthrough. There are some areas (such as Farm Arrays), where a new player has no idea what they need to do to move forward, which can either ruin the experience (by them giving up or googling the solution) or be extremely satisfying when they solve it.

Edit: Forgot to mention, but default Keyboard keybinds are awful. I immediately rebound them to WASD + Space and , / to use my right hand for Grab Throw. I strongly recommend adjusting them or using a controller if you prefer.
