Despite the negative review i probably will continue to play - ive been playing tekken since no1 in the arcades so at this point its a part of my life painful or not.

T8 i feel has strayed away from what made tekken different to other fighters - the back and forth cerebral flow of it is no longer a part of the game. It has made way instead for huge oppressive offence where a game can literally be decided on 2 mistakes in a round = when i say mistakes i mean a wrong guess as almost every character has huger wall carries now, 50/50's that can combine heat into massive chip damage even if you guess right and block correctly.

some characters even have several special movies in heat that they can use several times before the use their heat gauge up! its crazy umba-bunga fighting - AND you still get a rage art after using your heat gauge! its mad

- chip damage
- heat burst
- wall carries for every character
- 50/50 for every1
- armor moves into heat bursts

all too me make for an oprressive stressfull overly reactive experience which i hope will get adressed one day - until then - if your new to tekken i would advise not to start with this - try tekken 7

but if your a simple chimp that likes flashy moves and being able to steamroll other players with non-thinking stuff until you hit the plateau - youll get some hours out of this but predictably will probably get bored having to eventually learn proper tekken and leave the game

for a game made with Unity this is dripping with style - fantastic old school sprite animation and soundtrack - really addictive combat so far! def recommend

everything about this game from the style to the crazy characters is spot on! the city itself is dripping with charm an the story is brilliant hard nosed yakuza stuff. BUT the one reason i have to give it a super negative review is the only negative thing about the game, the thing that stopped me playing all together and giving up - the muvahumping combat system!

Think of a psuedo streets of rage in 3 dimensions BUT where each enemy character has the ability to stun lock u into oblivion. Any large group of more than 2 enemies becomes a ridiculous gank fest!

Maybe my character was underpowered for the area i got to in the game however said area locked me into an elongated repeated gang fight against the clock with no opportunities to go back and power myself up. After the 50th try of trying and failing i realised I hadnt enjoyed any of the mulitple enemy fights for some time - and the amazing story and city was now locked off to me.

Terrible unresponsive fighting mechanics against stunlocking gank squads was eventually enough for me to swear off any of these games in future - 90 percent of this game is so much fun, but that 10 percent ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is so overpowering that i wouldnt waste your time here.

Quite simply one of the most atmospheric true to source, intense, Frantic and scary AF games ive ever played - so many twists and turns. As close to the alien experience a game can get!
