Having come with a background in both TCGs and CCGs, I can honestly say that Duelyst is among the top of my list. Forget traditional games such as Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic; Duelyst takes a different approach by presenting players with a tactical board in which they are free to move, summon, and battle upon. Put in simpler terms, imagine a better Hearthstone — albeit not completely ridding itself of the microtransaction aspect. Without further adue, I'll dive into the comparisons.

Pros:

— Extreme replayability.
— A plethora of cards to obtain and use.
— Dynamic battle system and well-scripted animations.
— A faction system in which each "General" possesses his/her own unique ability.
— Ability to play against friends or against randoms.
— Ranking system is relatively easy to climb without punishing you too hard for losing.
— Uh guys.... this game is free!?

Cons:

— Can be considered a semi pay-to-win game.
— If you're willing to invest money, then you have a higher chance at getting better cards as opposed to those who didn't.
— Doesn't have Harambe as a character.
— Simple to pick up but hard to master.

I have to admit that prior to the purchase of this game, I had gotten many comments as to how the game wasn't worth $60 simply for its multiplayer. However, having played the game now, I can say that I've logged 30 hours within 2 days. I think that just goes to show exactly how replayable the game can be even if it only has a handful of maps. The reason for this is the ability to reinforce and destroy environments at your own discretion; coupled with the abilities of the unique operators that change the game based on which ones are in play. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a realistic FPS that doesn't fail to disappoint.
