Detroit: Become Human

is an outstanding drama cinematic game where EVERY decision counts.

No matter how we decide here, every action leads to a different result than we might expect.

Let’s start with the storyline:

We start our game in Detroit 2038. Technology has advanced so much that human-like androids can be found everywhere. They speak, move and behave just like humans, but they are just machines that serve humans… or don’t they? Is this what the government wants to sell to us? Or are they really just a pile of mechanic parts and hydraulic fluids?

We start with three different storylines.

We have Kara, the AX400 the android who’s function was as a domestic worker, housekeeper, and caretaker of young children.

We have Connor, the RK800 built by CyberLife as an advanced prototype, he is designed to assist human law enforcement; specifically, in investigating cases involving deviant androids.

And then there is Markus, RK200 who’s known functions are as a domestic assistant and companion.

At first, our three main characters are doing their android jobs pretty well.. but after a short while we will get deeper into it and we will learn how to see the human world through the eyes of a machine.

We are going through three different storylines in the beginning, which eventually lead together in the end, depending on how we decide through the whole thing. All our main characters can die if we let them, or can save the whole android population and fight for freedom and equality.

We will have to go through moral dilemmas and difficult decisions and can transform android slaves into revolutionaries.

My opinion on this:

I got very emotional during the different story’s. At some points I immediately regret my decisions. All three stories are absolutely stunning and worth replaying as often as liked. Through every replay i had a whole different gameplay. In this game I genuinely cared about my decisions.

Karas story and her bonding with Alice is incredible sad in the beginning and some of the endings are even more. We can change everything to the good, or bad – depends on how we decide.

Connors story and his bonding with Hank was a bumpy road to go, i loved how they grow together, fight or helped each other. At some points we have to decide over the fate for both of them..

Connor is the whole time in an inner conflict with himself, what’s right and what’s wrong.

Markus story is –on my opinion- the most influenced but yet predictable storyline.

You will need 12+ hours to complete the game ONCE. There are thousands of different things over the whole story you can change. If you want to play all endings and all different checkpoints you need probably like 40+ hours, depending on how you play.

You can get achievements and trading cards for this game. You need to replay the game for some of the achievements.

Let’s talk about the graphics, mechanics and controls

This game was originally for PlayStation. You can feel that really if you play with kb+m. With a gamepad you have super smooth gameplay, with kb+m sometimes a bit clumsy but still absolutely manageable.

When first starting the game, the shader really needs some time, i have a good gaming pc and specs but still at first it managed my pc to overheat. After the first starting and waiting like 20 mins for adjusting, everything went good when restarting the game.

I had two game crashes in the whole time i played.

The graphic is enormous and absolutely stunning! I’ve rarely seen an ,,old‘‘ game with such beautiful structures and graphics, I really loved all the effects and the character design.

my conclusion

This is one of the most emotional, exciting and divers games in this genre I ever played. I enjoyed every minute of it!

In my eyes there are just a few flaws and the message behind the games is very valuable for all of us.

I really learned to love the main characters through the story and i will totally replay the game to see every ending for them.

I love the little easter eggs, as example – when you decide to free the androids and give them the life they want, your starter assistant android will leave you. She will properly ask you if she can have her own life now too, you can accept or decline, its up to you. But she will react very different in both cases.

One of the only flaws is, that there is no part II of this game.

I rate this game a phenomenal 9.5/10.

:flamey_happy:
