I've played since 2013 with a couple of breaks (Played around 500 hours before I switched the game to Steam). America is my main nation and I grinded it till 7,7 at ground and 8.7 at air without investing money in the game. A couple days ago I decided to buy the XM-1 (GM) because of the steam sale to grind ground top tier. Never made a worse decision

If you play till rank 4 or 5 you a reasonably "balanced" game that can be a lot of fun. Every rank above you mostly get cancer and brain damage.

Don't try top tier. Either Ground or Air. It's mostly a terrible experience. In ground battles you only get one shoted from the enemy spawn, get rushed by a heli who single-handedly wiped half your team or sniped by drone from 5 km up. In air battles it mostly matters what missiles you have. Hence why its called Missile Thunder. And oh surprise: premium vehicles often have the best. But air seems more skill based to me at top tier than ground. Even if I get up tiered I can get a couple of kills (If I don't get sniped by undodgeable missiles).
Edit: Welp. New Update. New Jets in the same battlerating as the old ones with better missiles. Godd Job Gajin. Way tho break the game.
And suddenly my wing breaks of in my f5c in nearly every turn I make. Even at low speeds of 800 kph and below. Wiki says they break at 1450 kph. Probably the g-forces break them since the new update. Never even got mentioned anywhere.
And afterwards my crew is blocked for 6 minutes for no apparrent reason and I cant play anything else. I should just uninstall this game.

If you are a WW2 or modern vehicle fanatic, be it air or ground vehicles, you will like this game. The vehicles are very well presented and have a lot of details. After a couple of years you can tell every tank or plane apart and know its specific details.
But for fun and engaging gameplay you should search elsewhere. The historic vehicles may fascinate you for a certain amount of time. But after you played it for a hundred hours you start to see all the flaws and bad design choices in this game that the developers just dont fix. They only add new vehicles that break the game even more. They add 70€ premiums with the best stats and weaponry. Especially Top Tier should be avoided. It will suck the fun and will to live out of you.
It is sad to see, because in its core it is a good game that has a fantastic atmosphere. But over the years it just got worse and keeps on getting worse.
