I decided the edit my review after playing playing Destiny 2 for an additional few years and to make it more accurate to the current state of the game.

I love this game, it has a lot to offer and a lot of various activities, the highlight for me is the Raids, as its the first ever game I've seen that has incorporated FPS with Raids and the story of Destiny's Universe. Regrettably, recently or not too recently, Bungie has decided to 'Vault' content that isn't being played as often with promise of possibly bringing it back later on in the future. Bungie basically removed some activities.

For new players this probably doesn't sound too bad, but it is in fact very bad for new players. New players no longer have a story to follow through, they no longer have a story that will tell them what is going on in the Destiny universe and this can be a big problem for new players as it doesn't incentives them to continue playing. It doesn't give players a reason to look forward to the next expansion. If a new player had to buy one of the newer DLCs they would be completely lost and wouldn't be interested in the story. It can have a beautiful cinematic, amazing gameplay but it would be difficult to follow a story mid-way through.

The only way I see a new player sticking with Destiny 2 for a long time is because they really like the PvP but at some point they will feel the difference between paid and FTP payers and will have to fork-out cash just to buy the DLCs so they can have the same weapons, armours and special abilities, just to be on the same level as everyone else.

I love Destiny. I love its campaigns, its armour, its weapons, its abilities, its lore, its customisation, its PvP, I love it all but Destiny has become a game for the the original player base and its difficult for new players to enjoy and get hooked on the story when there is no Page 1. This is sad because I want to see the Destiny player base continue to grow but I don't see it happening at the moment.

Destiny has become a game for the original player base.

Threads looking good, thought I wish I could remove the stickers on the chest piece.

TLDR: This is down-right one of the Best games I have played in a long time. (not helpful I know, sorry)

I've played both Nier: Replicant and Automata but I found out about automata first. I was searching for a game that could scratch that Fallout: new vegas RPG itch and I came a across this game. At the time, I hadn't played many JRPGs and the first one I ever played left a bitter taste in my mouth but when I played Automata I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't say it scratched my RPG itch that New vegas left me with but this game made me forget it and made me itch for more of this game.

At first the one thing I dislike most (or more accurately, annoyed me the most) was the fight scenes and the shoot em' up parts but thats was because of the keyboard input, once I got my hands on a controller these parts were a blast too.

This game has it all, Good story, fun fighting and shooting mechanics, an existential crisis and more...

The only bad thing I would say about this game is that the cutscenes weren't changed for the English voice-acting, or at least thats what I think. The mouth movement and lip sync are off and look strange with the English voice-acting that it feels like what they do in anime for dudding but they were focused more on the translation than the appearance. This is speculation of course, could be that the lip sync is also bad for the japanese version, haven't checked.

At the end of the day, I think this is one of the best games I have played in a while and because of this game (and square enix giving the green light for the remaster so us PC users can play it too) I was lucky to find Nier: replicant, another beauty. Playing Neir: replicant made things a LOT more clearer once I ran through Automata again, for example: why were Devola and Popala getting such harsh treatment, who Emil is referring to in "Emil's Determination", etc

Not a very Helpful review but If you plan on playing this game, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
