Unable to bear it any longer I refused her. I said I had no name...
The crossbreed girl smiled a knowing smile. She remarked that I was much like her in that regard and mercifully agreed to call the painting "Ash".
I felt a profound relief wash over me. That and gratitude and a sense of kinship for the crossbreed girl. She was just like me? It must be for this reason she gave no name when we first met.
