So, First things first. I absolutely adore boomer-shooters, and DUSK is no exception. Its an absolutely amazing game, definitely worth the full price! Like all of New Blood's games ;).

Summary

DUSK is a journey to even more twisted locations than the last, ranging from a countryside cult to possessed millitants in factories, and then into pure insanity with eldritch abominations, in a great FPS experience!

Visuals

The first thing you see when you launch the game is the look of it. It has great, deliberately retro looking visuals. With some landmarks and modern touches that would make your retro computer explode.

Movement

Moving in this game feels absolutely magical! Your run speed is as fast as you'd expect in a retro inspired game, with modern touches here and there, such as sliding, flipping in mid air, climbing and ofcourse the fan favorite bunny hopping.

Levels

As i mentioned in the summary, the game has 3 episodes which are named "The Foothills" "The Facilities" and "The Nameless City" i think they connect to each other seemlessly. All of them have 10 beautiful looking levels, getting only better as the game goes on, with a single secret level in each episode, which can be really hard to find!

Guns/Gunplay
There are 10 weapons in the game or 11 if you count the cigar, ranging from sickles and pistols to double-barreled shotguns all the way to explosive weaponry! All the weapons feel powerful and meaty, except the crossbow and all feel useful in different situations and theyre a joy to use!

Enemies

So, what are weapons without bad guys to use them on? Not much i think. The enemies get tougher and tougher as you play through the game, with different weapons better used for different enemies, or situations. The different episodes are home to different monstrosities, they all look wonderful from cultist to wendigos and god-knows-what kind of abominations cartdog without any enemies i found annoying to fight.

Kinda story

There is a story, akin to Quake or Doom so don't expect cutscenes or the like, but its in the environment such as scribbles on the walls that you only understand after playing through the game a second time. All i can say when you get to the final boss, pay attention to the voice actor (he also knocks it out of the park with his performance) Its a great little throwback! It hurts to remember...

Thoughts after kinda 100%

I only got all the achievements, didn't neccesarily "complete" the game since that would entail beating every level in speedrunning style, without getting hit a single time, i tried some just for fun didn't really get angry, but its a test of patience and perseverance.

I absolutely, wholeheartedly reccomend this game without a sale. If its on a sale? No more excuses champ! Get it.

My second kinda completionist score!:
