This game is probably one of if not the best RPG I have ever played. It lets you do almost anything be almost anything the ideas and paths in this game are better then I could have imagined.

Comparison: I have been looking for a good videogame based on a ttrpg made in the past decade to 5 year-ish, and I found 3 decent ones and before Wrath of the Righteous I played Baulder's gate 3, which is unfinished being in early access the characters are obnoxious and the is... meh, at least what they have so far. I also played Solasta Crown of the Magister, another great rpg however the party is made by you, as in the characters are all custom while both games have good gameplay Solasta has an amazing story that focuses on a mysterious world and develops myths and legends based on it. The reason I'm saying all this is to give context, because Wrath of the Righteous is better then both of these games by far.

NPCs: The characters in Wrath of the Righteous are well developed and make me want to genuinely help then while finding out more about them. But its not all happiness and sunshine here, the characters are not uniform. They are from all walks of life with an assortment of pasts and personalities and alignments that have developed from those pasts. One of my favorite characters is so traumatized by their past it has effected many parts of their personality and actions and not in the way one might think.

Freedom of Choice: Everyone in a game based on a TTRPG has moments where they would say "Well I wouldn't want to do any of these options, why cant i just do what I want?" Obviously with game constraints it is impossible to give every single choice you could possibly do in any game. However, I have had no instants of me actually feeling like that in this game. Playing a necromancer and get to a story part where on a ship you hired many sailors die in a storm leaving the others afraid to try to fix the ship. Welp as the game says "Death is not an excuse!" get those lazy sailors back up to fix their ship, you payed them so you'll get your money's worth! The freedom to do practically whatever you want is amazing, want to be a completely free spirit and let nothing and no body hold you down? Go for it. Want to have a pet horse and never actually mount it only using it as a large "familiar" do it. Want to be a shady deal maker and cheat anyone out of anything? Oh boy do I have the path for you. The freedom in this game is amazing and the best part, I have had people reference my character's past decisions. Sometimes with scorn but sometimes with respect. You are as much a character defined by your choices as your partners are.

Tldr: Seriously this game is great, its a game I have been waiting for forever and I never even knew. It is by far the best recent game based on a TTRPG out there, buy it. Give these devs money for their hard as hell work.
