Basically, unlike DOOM 3, this game makes you play as a total bad@$$ rather than some guy caught up in the wrong moment at the wrong time. Not saying the marine(s) (if you played the expansions) you play as in DOOM 3 aren't bad dudes, but in this one, you play as the DOOM marine. Really nostalgiac to the original, you go around destroying anything in your way using a vast arsenal of weapons. This isn't a survival horror game if that's what you missed from the last one, but if you played the original DOOM games, you'll appreciate this.
The campaign is a lot of fun and is nostalgiac of the original DOOM games. However, the multiplayer could use a lot of work. I'm not saying I don't have fun playing online, but there's a line when people come in and cheat, warding off other players who want to progress and have fun in multiplayer, or instances where the game produces completely uneven teams (such as having a team of 7 go against a team of 5 on a team objective game when clearly it's suppose to be 6v6). I feel it's a little misleading to advertise the multiplayer portion of the game when it seems that it is poorly managed. It would be a shame to see it die out, which it seems it is now. Don't kill the potential.
