Standing in front of a ruined old military truck looking at an open metal box with an old suit inside.
Hesitation.
Then putting on the suit. It feels strange, but fit well.
Jumping.
Higher then ever.
Walking.
Faster and Faster.
Running.
Down the hill, straight towards a cliff. Jumping!
More higher then before!
Landing.
Surrounded by wonderfull Nature, guided by a really, really amazing Soundtrack.

Welcome to V A L L E Y !

As i looked towards my Gaming Library i recognized this little pearl.
I can`t remember when i get this game but it got my attention.

With zero Expetations i started playing and was fascinated from the first moment on.
VALLEY got really wonderfull Graphics. I love nature and i didn`t expect such an amazing atmosphere, i last got on the nature of the Game BETRAYER.
Playing first Person our hero found a strange suit net to destroyed old military equipment. The suits allows to run faster, jump higher as a normal human can do. Beeing trapped in this Valley we have to find a way out with the help of the suit.
Accompanied by a female Voice who tells us from time to time about what happens in the Past and explain the places we reach.

VALLEY is more a Running Jumpingsimulator, then a walking Simulator. You explore the Valley that is split in Zones and follow the light story, that is not really extensive, but (for me) really exciting. What happened there?
The Control of the Suit is really good and i have so much fun of the freedom of movement in some places. You also don`t have a normal Lifebeam, no it is the Lifebeam with leaves of the Valley itself. Each time you die and return to life with your suit, something around dies. Trees, animals. You can put them back to life to refill the Valley Lifebeam. But you need energy you can collect around.

VALLEY is a wonderfull Pearl in the Ocean of Games. The Atmosphere is so amazing, also because of the awesome Soundtrack which is truly one of the Best Gaming Soundtracks i ever heard and believe me, i heard hundrets of them since the C64/AMIGA 500 Era. So if you want to dive into a mysterious Valley with an interesting Gameplay and like Graphics and Music in Games, with a little exciting Story, then this is for you.

Well, the Soundtrack is totaly worth the 6,99 (25 amazing Tracks and many covers), but you have to decide if 19,99 is that gaming experience worth. Maybe you better wait for a sale, like momently for 3,99, but this game is in my eyes the full price worth and needs to be in every gaming library.

Thank you for reading.
And thank you, dear Devs, for that amazing Pearl.

PS: I finished the Game and i`m totally impressed. This is the first Game for Years that took me by surprise. I`m still fascinated from the Story and the Amazing Soundtrack.

PS1: Now months after my review i played VALLEY again and again from the beginning to the end. 7 Times now. And each time i still found notes about the awesome story.
Blue Isle Studio did an amazing Job with the Story. Nearly all Questions that the Game gave, will be answered to the end of the Game. Valley is not only a Game, it is a damn good Book.
Again thanks to Blue Isle Studios. Please make another VALLEY, maybe the time in the past beginning with Fischers arriving there. :-)

Another excellent review verging on the poetic, couple it with some stunning screenshots (if you took those Wyve then you have the eye of an artist), and a game that I had heard nothing about, now becomes an experience I look forward to. :phoenixstar:

Beautifully written review Wyvern and I agree wholeheartedly the experience of running and exploring Valley is a treat. Some of the past stories certainly adding to the story, the little magical beings and the dark dangerous ones. With the sound track adding a lot to the feel of the game!
