Regarding AoE II the answer is YES but the matter of AoE III can not be determined until I play a game or two, sometime after October 15th. The original AoE III was different from AoE II. I first played AoE III when it was only on CDs and still have those.
The Treaty part was real goofy in performance. The Figures (Villagers and Such) were slightly better than AoE II and there was many new things in it. I enjoyed the "Field Hospital" with its two "Surgeons". A tent and when a wounded figure got close enough it began to heal. Animals had to "Fatten". You could choose which ones you wanted to play against but for New Players it is better to fight just one enemy, in AoE III.
On the matter of AoE II. My Standard game is against 7 enemies and I do play Easy difficulty,
Does that help?
