Wrote this originally as a review for Beyond Light but figured I'd post it on the main page as well.

Tbh this DLC is a slap in the face, I knew it wasn't going to be that big of an expansion but this is ridiculous, removing my favourite destinations and activities (Mars and Titan, and Escalation Protocol and the Menagerie) and replacing them with an incomplete Cosmodrome from Destiny 1, which btw completely nullifies the events of Rise of Iron from Destiny 1 as the world space is different from how it was in that DLC (ie destroyed buildings and the GIANT HOLE IN THE WALL magically being repaired to their "like-new" 'Old Russia' standard like they were never destroyed in the first place), Bungie clearly doesn't have the budget to make games on their own so they prioritize micro-transactions and charging FULL PRICE FOR EXPIRED CONTENT THAT IS USELESS IN THE CURRENT GAME (ie Forsaken and Shadowkeep being still full price even though all the gear from those 2 expansions can't be brought up to the current level max), when they split they said "Beyond Light would be the first Bungie controlled expansion", well if this is Luke Smith's vision of what Destiny should be, he needs to be fired immediately and Bungie needs to shut Destiny down, this is a money grab in all ways, for every 1 place progress has been made it's been backtracked in 7 other places.

If I didn't already spend money on this DLC and didn't have friends that talked me into gearing up to attempt the Day 1 Raid I honestly don't know if I'd still be playing it, after I beat the raid there will be nothing left to do except the "drip fed" content that Bungie is using every week to artificially extend the DLC and give players things to do during the season, if all the content was at launch there would be about 5 days worth of stuff to do, all in all 2/10 for a DLC.

*Also as a side note, the in-game explanation for as to why all those planets and activities are gone is "They've all disappeared and we don't know why", which is the LAZIEST WRITING I HAVE EVER SEEN COME OUT ANY STUDIO, especially the studio that made 5 of the Halo games and has some of the deepest lore for a video game. (Destiny actually has good lore but you have to buy books and read lore pieces on items in-game, hardly anything is ever explained to you in-game unless you go looking for it, which is another problem)

Anyways, rant over now
