The game is great.
Simlpy great. Old school CRPG, spirit of Fallout and so on and so forth.

But i won't buy it. You know why? Because i want to pay for the game, and not for digital novels, soundtracks, pictures, and a 1988 first version of the game. And definitely not for the Bard's Tale, which is also great but i have finished it for 3 times.

But thx for the free weekend anyway.

Давным давно... когда компьютеры были большими... жила-была великолепная игра Master of Magic. Переплюнуть ее по интересу, необычности, реиграбельности, на мой взгляд, не удалось пока никому. Хотя попыток было много. И Warlock одна из таких попыток, причем, как по мне, самая удачная. Дух МоМ витает над игрой. Богатство возможностей, вариантов развития, рас (причем возможность играть за несколько сразу прямиком из МоМ) куча заклинаний, разные маги с большим количеством настраиваемых параметров... В игре действительно очень много всего. И это совсем не Цивилизация в фентези обертке. Это другая игра, хотя параллели и есть.

Из минусов здесь ужасно куцая дипломатия и непроходимо тупой ИИ. Впрочем, вторую проблему можно отчасти поправить модом Ренессанс (Renaissance) из мастерской. Искуственный идиот начинает представлять угрозу даже на среднем уровне сложности, а если ему попадется раса Дремеров тут и слить можно.

Ну и юмор. Мне искренне жаль тех, кто не знает, откуда взялись скажем щиты Джян Бен-Джяна и почему маги на мосту говорят "You shall not Ni! " Ну и описания почитать тоже временами весело.

Игра сделана с большой любовью. Да, мастерства немного не хватило. Но удовольствия получаешь массу.

В общем, со скидкой 75% - отличная покупка.

There are issues with this game, but with a 50% discount it's a good buy, as for me.

Used to play this game long before it came to Steam.
As for a browser game (and it's a browser game after all) it's very solid and packed with stuff.
You have construction, research, combat.
Can't call it a budget 4x game, for there is no exploration element.
You have ship editor, which, to some extent, allows you to customize your fleet. Various equipment, both researched and acquired through blueprints will help with that.
And you have real fleet PvP, although only in 6vs6 max format. But it's very real and feeling cool. Seeing a couple of frigs destroy a full fleet of battleships for the first time would make you **** bricks.
Also base assaults are interesting. There is no impenetratable defence, but if you lack in skill, you'll have unpleasant moments assaulting clever enemies.
And couple of words about the community. It's nice if you don't behave like a **** in your own sector. Don't attack, don't steal cargo unless it's marked "free" in chat.

So, to summarise.
Pros:
1. Base construction and planning
2. Ship customization
3. Nice graphics and art
4. Cool PvP
5. Microtransactions are really not necessary to play
6. If you are nice to community it'll be nice to you.

Cons
1. All the features of a F2P browser strategy game are present (long building time, microtransactions make life easy etc)

The game is definitely worth trying.

Oh, and not to forget the possibility to play on Android and IOS.
