Finally this game runs at 144fps instead of like 20fps.

No UW support though. Cmon Atlas.

Edit: Game is really good. The new content is exceptional and it still has the tightest JRPG gameplay of any series.

Great game. Mediocre port.

Though certainly not for everyone. It's definitely punishing in that it's not the kind of game that will give you any convenience what-so-ever. You want to save before a boss? 90% of the time that means walking your ass back to the beginning of the dungeon to do it. It's just that kind of game.

Atlus was wrong for the compressed ass music in this game.

Goob game. Works on Steam Deck and looks beautiful on PC.

Heihachi Mishima approved.

Kind of a watershed moment for RPGs. I've played most of the games as part of the CRPG resurgence over the past decade and none of them have the budget and production value to match BG3.

It evolved a lot from its Early Access version. It became not only a great CRPG but thrives with both the spirit of DND and of the original Baldur's Gate games from Bioware.

If you have any affinity for RPGs, Dungeons and Dragons, or the fantasy genre, you don't want to miss this one.

Edit: Game is still very good

I genuinely loved this game. It's all the stupid fun of Metal Gear Rising but with Final Fantasy stuff. I don't think it has any pretensions about what it is. It knows, and embraces it. But that's not to say the entire thing is just "Haha, dumb Chaos game." Rather it actually ties in the Final Fantasy 1 in a pretty significant way.

The biggest problem the game has is that I think to get that much enjoyment you probably need to play the DLC in addition to the main game. Not that the DLC is bad, it's actually fantastic. Especially for the price it costs. But rather the structure of it is probably going to turn a lot of people off. The most impactful DLC is "Different Futures" which is the last DLC and requires you to beat all of the others before getting to it. And if you don't use the cheese that is having Knight job affinity to become virtually unkillable then strap in for some incredibly difficult levels where everything kills you in 1-2 hits.

I think that structure and the leaning into of the Nioh formula is probably the biggest failing of the game, because it plays like it wants to be a big dumb action game, yet the game insists that the difficulty continue to climb as you progress what is some genuinely pretty fun and interesting story stuff.

But I don't think it ruins the game, and you should play this if you're a Final Fantasy fan or a Team Ninja fan. Especially so if you're a fan of both. The game is just genuinely a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of fun.

It's quite good. A logical evolution of Nioh 2 and the Ninja Garden games, focused more on parrying like Sekiro or Metal Gear Rising than dodging like Dark Souls or Nioh.

Has some frame pacing issues, but aside from that it was solid from beginning to end. Not all that difficult though. Once you get the parry/deflect mechanic down, only like 1 boss will really surprise you with it's moveset.
