A short serene puzzle game that uses the mechanics of controlling three different characters well. The largest frustration came from some puzzles requiring a sequence of steps that you could start with either of two characters, but only one of them will be able to finish the puzzle multiple steps later. That being said, the game is quite kind allowing unlimited undo's, and for the achievement hunters, even lets you see and select exactly which checkpoints you used undo's on so you can complete them again.

Early Access Review
Nice graphical style, nice upgrade progression, and some unique challenges if you want to push the boundaries of what is possible.

I gave this a thumbs up because the store page preview is pretty accurate to the gameplay.
Is it a smooth and super polished game? No
Does it have some neat challenging levels? Yes
Does it have some issues? Yup to that as well.
The big issue that this game suffers from is that game physics are tied to frame rate. As a result some jumps or puzzles become much harder or even impossible if you play the game on too high or too low of a frame rate. The menus could also use some changes to make navigating them a little easier.

Neat combination of skills, battles, and nonograms. Instant feedback when you make a mistake is handy for learning, as are the various power ups which can reveal sections of the board. On the flip side, the limited health, and the attacks received from enemies essentially put every level on a time limit that can only be extended by strategically completing rows or columns.

While I had a fun time playing Demonologist, I struggled to maintain interest in it, thus it won't be a staple in my library. The main issue I have, is that when first starting out, the scares are great, but you don't really know how to play. By the time you learn, and get enough money to buy additional equipment, you've already experienced most of the scares and they just feel repetitive. As such, it falls short of my expectations for an investigative game, and repeats too often so the horror losses its feel.

Pros:
+ Spooky Atmosphere
+ Scares (some jump scares, some creepy, some gross)
+ Can play with friends
+ Ghosts are distinct enough that with skill you can differentiate them without all evidence
+ Player, and lobby customisation
+ Neat exorcism ritual mechanic (though they are always the same for each map and thus get repetitive)

Cons:
- Little to no instruction on what to do, or how equipment works
- Lots of non ghost related scares that make it harder to find the ghost room
- Found myself just standing around a lot waiting for the ghost to show evidence
- Equipment seems really expensive, and you lose it all should you die
- Scares start to feel repetitive after a while, and become more of a nuisance

Had a lot of fun playing through the main story, and the Leviathan roguelite mode looks pretty cool (though I haven't gotten very far in it yet). Loved the music, and shooting demons to the beat, it felt very satisfying. Having vocals kick in when you have a high multiplier is a nice touch too. My only real gripe is that a lot of the bosses felt very similar.

A relatively short game (2-3 hours) but still a wonderful puzzling experience. I wish it could have been longer =)

The Pedestrian is a linear story but it would be interesting to see the concept expanded upon in the future, with some form of level select (perhaps using the train mechanic to travel between waypoints)

I think this is a pretty well made game, and the store page gives a pretty accurate account of what to expect, though the trailer music does make the game feel a little more upbeat than actual gameplay imo. There are a few things that feel a bit cheap, like being able to hide right in front of a guard and them lose track of you, but there are optional challenge modes that prevent you from doing this. These challenges also come with leaderboards that show your current rank, however there didn't appear to be any way to scroll up/down the list, or to view friends times.

I quite enjoyed this game. Solving puzzles by planning the layout of machines, and programming them with instructions to move pieces around and assemble an end product. Leaderboards for smallest, fastest, and cheapest machines to compete on. Also has the ability to export your machines as a gif which is nice for sharing your solutions with friends or even just showing them what the game you've become obsessed with is all about.
