Episode 5 ruined the game for me.

Whoever designed episode 5 ruined this game, literally ruined it. THERE IS NOTHING OLDSCHOOL about episode 5, whoever made episode 5 HAS ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what oldschool fun is.

Oldschool fun does NOT mean platforms that are too fast, saving every 2 minutes, enemies that jump behind you and take 90% of your health (spike balls), narrow pathways with enemies that fly and shoot discs that can bounce off walls, enemies that shoot spikes that make your screen 100% red not being able to see anything (while being on a narrow pathway where you can fall to your death), literally EVERYTHING is bad about episode 5 which makes me give this SH***IT game negative review, I'm literally fuming how angry I got while playing episode 5. It's simply not fun and badly designed, episode 5 reeks of bad design. It's like they looked at all the bad games from the 90's and implemented every single frustrating thing to episode 5.

Now some of you may say "oh silly little boy, doesn't know old school, too hard for him, cry more", look at my playtimes with old school games in my games list, multiply that by 1000 before steam came out, I love old school but this is simply NOT it, solely because of episode 5, I don't even think I'll finish the game because of episode 5. Even Turok 2 with its maze levels didn't discourage me from playing it, you know why? Because it was FUN, hard maze levels but FUN.

I enjoyed episode 1 and 2 and I rarely make negative reviews but episode 5 made me pull my hair out how horribly designed it is, absolutely atrocious. Bad enemies, bad levels, bad everything.

No idea if I'll even continue playing this, I'm stuck at episode 5 god knows what level after saving 91283902138 times, constantly having my health at 20-30%, moving slowly, peeking for those spike balls of death that just sneak up on you from behind and make your screen red shredding your health to 10%. And yes I'm playing this game at the hardest difficulty, will not take the difficulty down because of the bad game design.

Garbage game, I'll give it 3/10, because I enjoyed the first couple of episodes. Too bad I can't refund this at 3.3 hours played. New Blood interactive has other good games, Dusk which I enjoyed, this... Just nah, episode 5 ruined it for me.

I felt the same way about episode 5. Abruptly stops being a fast-paced shooter and starts trying to be a platforming game.

I found Episode 5 amazing, what I don't like is the enemy design for it.

Episode 5 sucks hard and is the low point of the game, but one bad episode out of 7 doesn't make the entire game bad. I barely managed to beat the Forges on medium, and I don't look forward to trying on Evil or Hard or whatever.

Thankfully, the next and last two episodes are way more mellow and reasonable.

If anything I would just go through episode 5 in godmode and then play the episodes after, they are infinitely better and totally worth it.

I found episode 5 to be the most difficult one by far as well, it has the most difficult enemies for sure, but didn't have as much trouble as you seem to be having. For those spike balls I just run backwards. If you hit them with that green sword weapon they bounce back a bit if I recall and you can hit multiple of them at a time, so if you keep spamming that they usually keep their distance.
