Negatives: Movement controls lack precision. When you think you will have control of your jumping or walking you may find yourself running off of a cliff.
There i also only 3 difficulty settings, when the mechanics could warrant a modular system (This can be solved with mods).
There is too much character variety. How am I supposed to pick?

And now that we have that out of the way, Starbound is brilliant.
Did you enjoy crafting away in certain minibg games, or the progression and weapons on a terra styled planet?
This game expands upon those concepts and adds much to the experience itself. A game where you could at one moment be figting off an acient horror threatening to consume your essense, and in the next be piloting a hovercraft over an unexplored planet, just to sit down and start cooking up shepards pie and donuts, whilst having the intrigue and enjoyment stay as high with all of them, is a magnificent creation.
You could sink months into the game.

but some improvemnts could be done, for example the cature system. Make the caputre system fun. So that I can add universal pocket monster experience to the list of accomplishments.
