Edit 07/08/2024: After giving the former CEO-now-CD Johan Pilestedt the chance to right his ship, Arrowhead once again put out an update that antagonises players, nerfs the fun and caters to some weirdo at their company that wants their game to be as abrasive as sandpaper to play.

I can no longer in good conscience support, condone or recommend this game.

Due to technical issues at the launch of HELLDIVERS™ 2, we looked past the linking requirements for Steam accounts to a PlayStation Network account. That grace period will now expire. See details below in this post.

Keeping accounts separated plays a critical role in protecting our personal data and upholding the values of safety and security provided on the internet and society at large. This is our main way to protect ourselves from exploitation and identity theft by enabling the control and compartmentalisation of information within different access levels. It also allows those affected to have legal rights under GDPR to identify who holds information on them and demand this be erased.

As such, as of May 6th, all new HELLDIVERS 2 activity on my Steam will be required to allow anyone with their Steam account or their PlayStation Network account to continue to enjoy the game without the need to link the two. Current SONY and Arrowhead employees will begin to see negative reviews from May 5th and will be required to reverse their decision of a linked Steam and PlayStation Network account immediately. Our information does not come free and below is a list of reasons SONY does not have our trust to handle our data.
