90 minutes in, and this is the Ace Combat game that never was. It's got the cheesy military dialogue that is so endearing in it's sincerity, flying battleships, weird super weapons, and a world wrecking calamity in the past that broke the world into warring nation-states (and the mercenaries that fuel them). Some of the bindings on controller are a little...odd (Like binding accel/decel to the shoulder buttons and yaw to the triggers) but that's cleared up by editing them in the menus. Overall, this is a great love letter to a game series (and arcade-y flight games in general) that hits the perfect beats.
