Despite all my gripes and critisisms, I want this game to do well. I hope over time they patch it to high heaven and back because Lord knows it's in dire need of it. That being said..

I can't help but feel it was released a year or three too early. It still feels extremely beta at times, VERY rough around most of it's edges (besides visually). So until it gets a major facelift, I can't recommend just yet.

COMBAT
I understand that combat is meant to be cumbersome at first and maybe somewhat altogether for the sake of realism, but it's just not very fun whatsoever, and isn't that the goal ultimately? Your Attack delays almost feel like 3-4 seconds at times, you tap a button.........wait.................swing. Other times the game doesn't seem to read attack inputs altogether, but maybe that's just the framerate eating the inputs. Either way. It's a commendable attempt at decent combat, it just hasn't been executed well. And mind, I've tried both keyboard and controller, same verdict.

LORE/WORLD-BUILDING
This is the part of the game that shines for me, besides the crisp, well-done art-direction. No complaints here.

Other aspects like the lockpicking feature are what threw me off the most. I'm not sure how we're expected to spasm our way through even a "very easy" lock. It's just bloody impossible, completely devoid of fun and needs major improvement. Lockpicking in this game is the main reason I gave it up in favor of Skyrim again. I have a ton of gripes with Skyrim too, but at least they had innovative, fun lockpicking.

Like I said, I want the game to do well. Considering the developer's humble beginnings and grand ambition, it's admirable.
