Hopefully I can come back to this game some time soon with a fresh look, even as I fondly remember it.
The only other place you can experience this kind of stuff is in nostalgic memories of real life experiences, which is why it's so immensely impactful.
I even remember some bad reviews or people that couldn't handle LiS and quit early, and that even they were deeply affected by this game. I'd like to hope it was a positive impact for them, paradoxically to what they'd tell you.
