Early Access Review
Don't like reading...

It's nice and will improve over time. Worth the price currently.

General premise:
You spawn in randomly between 2 safe zones at which you can buy and sell stuff you loot. You also have a stash at each zone for storage. On the map, missions appear, air drops appear, chopper crashes and traders who sell rare items. These are all randomly spawned in at key points on the map of which there are plenty. Also, as you play you will notice AI patrols following the many roads, who will engage you on sight. This all works really well when you add large numbers of human players. Imagine Day Z with trading and without the zombies and you're close but it looks, feels and plays a lot smoother.

Random stuff I remembered:

Map design is excellent. At the moment small enough to get to most places in 5 minutes running in a straight line but large enough to spend lots of time exploring. Also, time of day and weather are really nice, especially night and early morning.

Gun play is actually really good however the AI seem either laser accurate or totally piss poor which makes for interesting encounters with them as opposed to PVP which appears to be very consistent and fair so far to me. Weapons all actually feel different too, I love the double barreled shotgun.

Looting is a fun and fairly quick process and the UI is actually pretty easy to use. Assigning things to hotkeys is easy enough and there is a small element of crafting too, which works quite nicely and isn't too much, in fact if you earn plenty of money you don't need to craft much at all, so it's optional.

I have not attempted to build a base, so far there is no need for me to do so as I am a solo player. I'm getting a friend onto this game soon so I'll update with my opinion of this later. I have stumbled on bases and managed to merc one guy as he made his base but I haven't seen any kind of raiding as yet, I don't even know if it's possible.

The sound...

Well something is off here. I mean in the directional sense. It's very hard to pinpoint where you're being shot from sometimes, it's really odd and can be distracting but I do feel it's something that will be fixed in future patches. The sounds themselves are well suited to the game and weapon sounds seem to match their respective calibers.

The graphics are pretty I think. Overall it's a nice looking game.

I've played this on and off for 26 hours now and that's what I like about it. I can load it up, go do a mission or two and drop out. Or.. Stay on for a few hours. It's pretty good like that, even when you die you know that you can return to your body or pick up loot or another mission somewhere else. I like the game play loop.

I've notice cars and parts of the island that are currently locked off. I hope both get added soon properly, this game would be really good fun with ai and player cars driving around the many roads.

All in all, enjoyable game that isn't expensive like Tarkov or as huge as Day Z but it takes some of the more fun elements from those games and combines them into a nice experience.
