Important Information, I have purchased this game during a -60% sale, I payed 15,99 Euro for this product!

I was interested in Wreckfest for a very long time, since they days of it being in Early Access. However, I dont buy Early Access games, (I will not pay for a unfinished product). So when the game came out of Early Access I was quiet excited about it. But the dev/publisher decided to charge nearly "AAA" money for what I thought was an Indy Title. They were charging a wopping 44,99 Euro. At no point was I motivated to pay that kind of money for Wreckfest. Personally it never felt like it was worth 44,99, I based this on reviews / videos / screenshots / Steam Store Page, etc.

The other day however the game was on sale, @ 60% off, I was more then willing to put my hard earned money down. So I did and I can tell you it was money well spent.

Wreckfest is the kind of game that does everything well, not exceptional, but its a really solid package. Everything from the graphics, the audio, the UI design. Everything is very solid. As far as the racing goes, I think its a really good balance between realism and arcade. The game play very well with a keyboard even with ABS off, obviously having more controlling over the amount of braking is preferred, but then you can always use a controller or steering wheel.
The tracks are varied and plentyfull, so are the cars. The variety of cars is what you can expect from a game like this, there aren't 100s but enough to keep you interested, additionally the cars all have their own driver characteristics. The cars are all based on real world models and do a really good job of sticking to their "original designs" without having to worry about copyright.
The game offers a Career mode, which eases you into the game. The progression is interesting, however sometimes you can feel about starved for cash to buy upgrades. On the other hand, where is the fun in having a better specced car then your opponents. After you have finished the career mode there is more then enough replayability, thanks to the Online mode and Custom Event mode.
I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that online actually worked, its really easy to get into a server and start playing.

Overall I would strongly recommend this game, however I still believe the non discounted price is a little steep.
