The game has immense potential, and being released only 2 months ago definitely increases its chances of becoming a great game. Please don't end up like DayZ, that would be sad.

Basically TTT but there are more rules to it. Definitely one of the best low hardware demanding games. I think it requires much more you being a people person rather than requiring game skill like in TTT, since the only things you do is click a button that says KILL and SABOTAGE.

this was the 1st ever video game i ever played. back then san andreas wasnt even released, so this was the best gta. i think it still is alongside san andreas.

This was perhaps the peak point of mortal kombat franchise. it went downhill from mkx and on.

edit: now after this update, most of these things here have been fixed. im actually surprised that nrs got their ♥♥♥♥ together in a single update. but the kombat packs are still way too expensive though. shang tsung and nightwolf are really nice, but the releases take too long. sindel was teased but never mentioned again after all this time.
I CAN HAPPILY SAY THAT ITS RECOMMANDABLE NOW.

great, i used to have 15% cpu usage before the update. now i have 90% on an i7 9750h, great job nrs. how the hell did u manage to ♥♥♥ this up again?
and by the way ed you suck at making characters balanced.
characters who seriously need a nerf : scorpion (oh well ed, well done again..), kuai liang (nice job in making a move which has low and overhead kicks following each other in miliseocnds), bi-han, sonya (♥♥♥ off man, ridiculously op), geras (nice grabs who land 2 ft before you, kunt), kano (pain to play against him, especially with someone like liu kang), shang tsung (he legit has a 75% combo) and the meme himself : erron black.
characters who need a buff : cetrion (elder god in ♥♥♥♥ form), shao (i want the shao back who did 60% xrays in mk9), kotal and kollector (why not spell the second c not with a k?)

and btw i wont even talk about the story. it was so terrible that its a waste of time.

wait for nrs to fix the game so you can buy it. right now it is unoptimized and bugged out like hell. just the same ♥♥♥♥♥ they did with mkx. they just dont give a sh*t about pc players. wait for the game to get better to buy it. you will notice when the time will come.

This review is written by someone who has played most of the MK games from the Midway time.
Don't compare me to someone who started playing with MK9. By the way I played it back then in 2015 when it was first released. I just bought it on steam.

The most important thing in an MK game : The story.
There may be some spoilers here, I will try not to include any sort of heavy ones without marking them.
The story of MKX was really bad in my opinion. After a really good story like MK9 they had the opportunity to improve it even further. But instead they made a terrible mistake in releasing these 4 new youth league characters (Jacqui, Cassie, Takeda, Jin) and making them pretty much the real saviours of earthrealm. Many main and important characters of the REAL MK franchise (Midway-Time) are either really left out or never even mentioned. The plot is filled with holes and plot convenience. Some events literally make no sense and are absolute ♥♥♥♥♥. Shinnok was an elder god, who are by the way the most powerful beings in Mortal Kombat besides the One Being and Onaga, and even Onaga was not as powerful as them. So how the hell do Johnny and Cassie beat Shinnok both singlehandedly? I know that Cages are born with a power given to them by the elder gods but still, this is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ The story mode gets a 2/10.

- Combat Mode
The combat mode is actually really good, besides that some characters and variants are absolutely too OP. For example Erron Black's left variant is wayyyy too op. Such are Quan Chi's Sorcerer, Liu Kang's Flame Fist (you can legit get a 85% combo if you are good enough) and even some more I can't remember now. But if I'm honest, the combat mode is good. The fatalities were alright, but the brutalities were sick af. A shame that babalities don't exist in this game though.
Combat mode gets a 8/10

- Krypt
The krypt was really, really good in this one. Takes days to komplete if you didn't spare thousands of koins before you started. It also had a lot of variety and was fun most of the time. But the option to unlock everything in the krypt for money is absolutely inacceptable. Usually I would have given it a 10/10, but because of that option, it gets a 8/10.

- Online
Online was really bad at the beginning of MKX, but then they mostly managed to fix the problems. It gets a 7/10.

- Game modes
Most of the game modes from the older games were removed. It got really bland and boring after a while. Gets a 3/10 because of next to zero variety.

- Optimization
The game was released back in 2015, so even a mid-end computer should handle it fine on high settings. But the kutscenes don't seem to support 60 fps. So it gets a 6/10 just for this.

Total : 5.5/10
Since it exeeds 5/10, it's recommendable. Enjoy the game while it's on sale.

A fantastic game for those who like to pretend they are architects.

This is legit the best RPG of all time, fallout 4 can't get near this masterpiece.
