They definitely made a comeback in regards to the optimization and bugs. When I first bought the game, I was barely able to run it. The combat was sluggish and I had constant FPS drops when driving around.

Now, with their new updates over the course of almost 3 years, I can say that I can now run this game at a smooth 60 fps on high settings. With this, I was able to actually enjoy the game and review it fully.

Overall, in my opinion, I think its an amazing game. It has many flaws, and still unfilled promises, but despite that I was captivated and thoroughly engaged into the game similar to when I played Witcher 3. Story and characters were great. I'd say the combat was pretty fun. There's different styles to play it but one issue I did have was being able to easily switch play styles in the middle of a save. The game doesn't allow you to reset your attributes (not perks), which locks you into one style the whole game. I downloaded some mods to get around this and changed my play style a little throughout my save.

However, I think Night City was its strongest point. Some may say it was lackluster due to the repetitiveness of the events and things around the map, but in reality there isn't any game out there that really fulfills this. For sure, this was an unfulfilled promise, but I'm not gonna judge the game on that when it's something no other game has done amazingly either. The city itself and buildings are amazing and it really does look like a "cyberpunk" or "blade runner" world.

Combat was pretty good and definitely had fun blowing heads off and hacking but it can be repetitive sort of like Witcher 3 (I did an OP alchemy build). Though, it was nice being able to find cool gear and make V look spiffy.

I think the voice acting was amazing and Johnny Silverhand really is a amazing character. I enjoyed how your relationship with him and perspective of him changes as you go along in the story.

3 years ago, I would've rated this game a 6. However, 3 years later think its an amazing game that has made tremendous improvements in the right direction in terms of bugs, optimization, certain QoL changes, gameplay changes and additions such as new cars/apartments, etc. . You should give it a go if you liked Witcher 3. Since Witcher 3 is a 10/10, I'd rate this a 9/10.
