it's a great purchase if you like spending 2 hours troubleshooting deprecated windows audio codecs from the early 2000s.
EDIT: if you have dedicated sound hardware. don't try to play FEAR or Condemned using it.

3 and a half games later and they still won't let me kill clap trap

They never updated this version with manual lock on or additional difficulties. Buy the xbone and ps4 version for the definitive experience
EDIT: i bought this because i did not think the features from the console version were exclusive and now neither steam or capcom want to give me a refund. There should really be a disclaimer on the store page about how this version was never updated.

the first game that i know of to use bullet time as a mechanic and aside from some cheap enemy placement, it's honestly aged pretty well. Also the lead writer and director of the game does voice acting as Max Payne and that's honestly such a power move

when i originally wrote this review, the version on steam was in a horrible condition and basically required you to play on a fan made source port and hunt down the original sound track yourself. none of this applies anymore. the port by nightdive is incredible and even goes as far as adding crossplay with consoles, doom 2016 weapon wheel, and a new shadow system.
