Game: Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition
My Rating: One of my favourite games of all time <3

Dark Souls is an action RPG which is known for being extremely hard.
While I believe that it's not as hard as people tell you it is, it's still a damn hard game.
So let's get started.


Story:

Storywhise Dark Souls doesn't have much to offer at first sight. The story you recieve is mostly hidden in optional dialouges and item descriptions.
While the story that you get if you don't want to read through a lot of the descriptions is not a lot, it still offers some really good story.

You should really not see the special kind of storytelling as a flaw since I think not having to engage in the story if you don't want to fits this game perfectly. You kind of make your own experience in a way.
Play it for yourself and you'll see what I mean.


Graphics:

The graphics are good but not revolutionary in any way, and one thing you should know is that it doesn't matter because most of the time you'll be busy thinking about everything else such as enemies attack patterns and what part of the world you want to explore next.


Gameplay:

Dark Souls has one of the best fighting systems ever in gaming ackording to me.
It makes you think about what to do and when to do it because if you take 1 swing at the wrong moment that might be the end for you, and that is one of the things that makes the combat system so amazing.
The character's movement is absolutely amazing except for the jumping which can be kind of tricky at times and sometimes it feels like it doesn't behave in the right way.
It also feels a bit clunky in huge parts of the game and you have to find out how to do it by yourself since the game doesn't really tell you how to do it.

Another thing that I like with the gameplay is that in this game it really feels like they made some cool looking areas and then they created the character to work with the areas instead of creating areas based on what the character could do.
The last thing I want to tell you gameplaywhise is to always play with a controller and that the shields are overpowered.


Difficulty:

In the beggining the game is pretty easy until you come to the Undead Burg.
The area itself is not that hard, but you don't know how to play and that's what makes that area stand out in difficulty to me.
After that the game gives you challenges but if you know what you're doing you should be absolutely fine.
It throws more and more challenges at you until the final area where it is surprisingly easy.
I came to the final boss without taking a single hit from any enemy and I completed the final boss on my first try.


Final Notes:

This game is a must play.
It's loads of fun and rage and I have two words to say that equals rage... FOUR KINGS!
Play the game and you'll find out what I mean.
The game is a 10/10 for me if we're not including the jumping and the end of the game which was really disappointing, and that's unfortunately what drags the game down to 9/10 in my opinion.
I just want to tell you that in the final area you get to the final boss and without a cutscene or anything the final boss starts attacking you and when you've defeated him after a pretty underwhelming battle, there is pretty much no ending to the game.
They pretty much just say that you've completed you're mission and POOF now the game is finished, roll credits.
While the end is really disappointing it still feels good completing it because now you can tell your friends you've completed Dark Souls ;)
Now I want to end this review saying, play this game.
It will be an amazing journey, and remember...
