tl;dr Strong 6/10, wouldn't reccomend unless on sale for 50% or more, otherwise not much to make it worth $20.

I played this a while back with one of my friends during an earlier free weekend, didn't realise I played enough to review it. Honestly, 'free' is the apropriate price for this game, but I can't hold it against a smaller company for wanting to make some profit off their work. The main and only gameplay of Dead by Daylight is a hide-and-seek gamemode, where players attempt to find and activate generators while another player plays as a murderer, trying to stop the other players from escaping. While this game does feature multiple maps and some procedural placement of items, there's only one aspect that truly affects the variety; the murderer chosen. It's actually pretty cool how the game completely changes based on the monster chosen.

Other than that though, can't say there's there's much else that impressive. Free weekends are often enough, you can get your fix then. But if you feel like more, can't say it's worth a full twenty bucks.

Tl;dr 7/10, good game, fun and addictive. There are definetely some more things that could be done to make it better, but as is it's a relaxing experience.

This review is mostly made to put out my opinions on how Stardew could be improve, should there be a 'Stardew Valley 2.' As such, I'm not going to talk about every aspect, just the ones I think could be improved. If I don't mention something, then that's because it's good, there's nothing in this game I'd call 'average' or below. This game is really close to being an 8/10 for me, it just barely misses that mark. If your looking for a tranquil farming simulator, I'd definetly get this.

Gameplay: Overall, this game does a good job being relaxing in terms of gameplay. It's calming to get up each in game morning to do your various chores, go out fishing, or exploring the forest to forage for fruit and building materials. The combat is generally servicable, unless you try to use the slingshot, which takes forever to load and aim. There's also different festivals and yearly events that you can go to.

My only two problems are with the slingshot and festivals. The main problem with the slingshot is having to load it. If you don't know what I mean, in order to properly use it you have to move your mouse in a "loading" motion, then you aim it while maintaining a distance from the slingshot, because if you let your mouse too close it unloads your slingshot. It makes it inpractical for combat, making it at most useful for slinging bombs to mine with. The problem with the festivals is that they're 99% the same every year. The only differences are different bits of dialogue if you get married and new rewards. After your first year they aren't that special anymore. It'd be nice if there was a little more variation each festival. Take the spirits eve event, for example. Maybe the maze can be different each year. Maybe there can be a chance that the monsters Marlon brings get loose and you have to slay them. Maybe have a chance the witch visits and casts a curse that you have to solve some riddle to get rid of it.

Characters: Each character is unique and somewhat memorable. I say somewhat because they don't really do much. You can talk with them, though they each have like 5 lines of dialoque they continuesly cycle through. There are special moments where, once you reach a certain friendship level, you and this character will share a moment together. However, each of them happens once, and they're few and far between. Some of them you can marry, which gives a chance that they'll do some farmwork for you, but asside from the wedding there's no more special moments with your spouse.

It'd be great if there was more interaction with characters. I'm not saying have some fully fledged out Sims stuff happening, but it'd be cool if, say, every once in a while a certain character would have a party themed after their interest, or maybe you can hold your own parties or just invite someone to hang out. It'd also be nice to have more interaction amongst the characters themselves. I was hoping the Clint and Emily thing would go somewhere, but after the event where Clint asks her out, nothing really happens.

Like I said, these are the only things I'd like to change. It'd just be nice to have a bit of variety, something to spice up each year to keep the game feeling fresh.

tl;dr 10/10 adventure-platformer. One of the best adventure games I've played and Double Fine's best game so far imo.

I would first like to start with there's a sequel in the works. I'm not saying it's automatically going to be as good or better, but please keep your eye on it so when it does come out and if it turns out to be good, it doesn't become a financial failure like this game initially was.

I reviewed Grim Fandango a while back and gave it a 9/10. This game manages to take all the good elements of Grim and elevates them even higher. There's tons of interesting characters to interact with, and the story is excellent. The gameplay is great, with good combat, puzzles, and platforming. I've only had an issue with the camera a couple of times. Objectively, the best aspect has got to be the writing. Every joke at the very least made me chuckle. My favourite aspect, however, has got to be the creativity of it all. In this game, you enter others' minds to help with what ails them. Each and every brain you explore is unique, offering interesting locations and different challenges. I don't want to spoil any of them because honestly this is a game everyone should atleast try, even if you're not inclined towards adventure-platformers(I know this because I'M not inclined towards them myself), but trust me when I say there's always something new and great around every corner of this game. Overall, I'd say this is a must-have game.

tl:dr Highly reccomend playing it before playing Witcher 3. 7-8/10

Playing Witcher 3 before any of the other games was a mistake on my part. While the first Witcher was horrible either way, Witcher 2 is actually a pretty good game. However, it's really hard to go back to playing this one without just thinking "Why don't I just play 3?" This isn't a bad thing; in fact, it shows how great of a job Project Red did developing a sequal that improves the previous game in every aspect. Still, it heavily effects my ability to enjoy this game, so while I must pass it up, I reccomend for everyone to experience this great game before they play Red's oppus.

The first time I played this, I only got through about thirty minutes of it before I couldn't handle how boring the gameplay is. The combat is essentially timed clicking. After playing the amazing Witcher 3, however, I grew curious of what I might have missed out on, and so decided to give the other two a try. I gave this game a good chance, but for how interesting the story is, I still ultimately found it too boring to continue on.

Edit: If you go on the Nexus mod website there's someone who uploaded all the possible saves you could end with, so if you're just playing this game for story purposes, you could just read up on it and go choose the ending you like the most. Trust me, I had a way better time reading a plot synopsis than playing this game.

tl;dr: 9/10. Reccomend buying soundtrack edition, worth it for game and amazing score.

This is an excellent point and click adventure game. The setting is very creative, and all the characters are well written and interesting. Same goes for the story, which had me invested the whole time. The only negatives I can think of is that the camera angle can be a little weird sometimes, and that the second half is a little rushed. It's not too badly rushed, but compared to how much there was in year 2(the game is split into 4 "years"), it makes the rest seem short in comparison. Still, I'd say that this is a great game. I'd reccomend getting the soundtrack edition, especially if your a fan of classic jazz and swing music.

I'm actually re-reviewing this after playing Elden Ring, I feel like right about now people are starting to finish it up and might be looking for more great open world experiences. Open world games that don't rely on copy-paste "bandit camps", but are filled to the brim with activities and secrets to discover. Although certainly aged, this is a solid recommendation from me, and hopefully I help at least someone give this classic a try.

Of course, MASSIVE disclaimer, this is a dumpster fire of a port. The Gentlemen of the Row mod will get your game at the very least running for a half hour at a time, but still be prepared for constant crashing. If you have a 360, getting a console version is definitely recommended. That said, you see how many hours I've put into it despite that, it's honestly good enough to ignore that(again, assuming you get the Gentlemen of the Row mod).

Up until Elden Ring, this was actually my favorite open world game, and still strongly holds 2nd place for me. It's story, while definitely not entirely serious, is waaay more grounded than the sequels, making it more investing(and honestly, makes the comedy hit a bit better, at least for me). The combat is definitely a bit dated, but the main selling point in terms of gameplay are the loads and loads of activities. This game is full of side jobs that are all unique, offering you an open world full of things to do. There are also secrets and hidden events that happen across the city, making simply exploring rewarding in it's own right. There is also soooo much customization, it's honestly upsetting the other games didn't expand on it and instead reeled back. Every article of clothes, the way you walk, your hand-to-hand fighting style... it's kind of insane what you can do to your character. As someone who likes making interesting characters, any game that allows for an asymmetric face is already near perfection for me.

If you are looking for another game to scratch that open world itch, this is a definite recommended from me. Again, though, make sure you get the Gentlemen of the Row mod.

A great game for people who just want to punch things to death. 8.5/10

Pros:
+The lack of story is great. It's just you, with a bunch of guns, and a bunch of demons. This game doesn't need a huge storyark where you develop characters and plot points or whatnot. Your a guy who likes to kill demons. Boom! Done! Storytime over, now kill some more things. There is, however, story to be found through data logs and other similar things, which you can choose to read in your codex. So if you really are interested in the backstory of say, the Doom Marine, then this game has you covered. It just won't shove it in your face.
+Whilst I wouldn't say it's nonlinear, DOOM does a great job encouraging exploration. There are many collectables, such as Argent Energy which is a health, sheild capacity, and ammo capicity upgrade, drones that provide weapon modifacations, which add a secondary function to your gun, and even small DOOM Marine dolls that give you access to 3D models of items and characters in the game.
+The combat is amazing. This game does a great job keeping you at your toes. Cover won't save you, you'll have to keep moving to survive.
+The guns are all great, and you can feel the impact of each one. Though, a few of them loose their usefullness late game.
+The game looks beautiful, I love the amount of detail developers put into their worlds these days. That also includes enemies, which are all unique and grotesque in their own ways.

Cons(Theres hardly any really bad parts of this game so most of this is nitpicking):
-Glory kills get kinda old after a while, but are almost required to survive most of the bigger fights, since enemies killed this way provide extra health. There is a rune that makes you do it faster, but almost every other rune provides a better, more helpful benefit.
-The bosses aren't really spread out well, there's three(technically four) boss battles and they all take place in the later half of the game.
-There's not enough things to upgrade when it comes to weapons. I ended the game with about 30 upgrade points(The most a single upgrade can cost is 6). This is because I only used one mod per gun(You upgrade the mod, not the gun), but really most of them only had one useful one. I would've liked to be able to upgrade the weapons themselves, because some guns just loose usefulness late game.

This is a great game I recomend for everyone. However, before you buy, you should know that this is more of an action game then a puzzle game(See the first con). 8/10

Pros:
+The tombs and other puzzles are fun and challenging, and the collectables are all interesting.
+The combat is pretty good, though theres a con related to this below.
+The characters are great, and they all have good voice acting.
+Beautiful game, they put a lot of detail into it.
+The story is good, there was only one twist that I saw coming from a mile away.

Cons:
-As I said before, the combat is great, but theres too much of it. As much fun as it was to fight endless waves of enemies(not being sarcastic), that's not what one goes to a Tomb Raider game for. The amount of time speant exploring tombs or finding artifacts is way lower then the amount of time spent shooting at things.
-The tombs might be fun, but individually are short. Each one is a single puzzle. I'm not asking for each one to be a full gauntlet, but when you only have a handful of them, atleast make them two or three rooms long.

Small Things That Don't Really Matter But I'll Still Mention Them:
+The QTE's aren't annoying, and happen rarely.
+There's absolutely no turret sections, which I'm happy for since the game had many oppurtunities to lazily put us on a mounted gun.
+The concept art you can unlock is good.
-It intoduces a survival element in the beggining of the game, only to then get rid of it immediately after.

If you just bought this for the items, here's how to get them quickly:

1. Start game. If one of the characters pull out their respective item, continue to step 2. If none of them do, hit Esc, click Menu, then new game. Repeat until one of the items come out.
2. Go all in every round(Pull the slider at the bottom of the screen all the way to the right and click "All In"). If you win or don't win, go back to step 1 until you have all the items.
3. You can skip dialogue by pressing the right mouse button.

Anyways, this is an alright timewaster. I suggest waiting for a sale, I wouldn't neccasarily say it's worth 5 dollars; this is more like a phone app then it is a game.
