There's not much to say about this game as someone who's coming back from the first Remnant, this pretty much feels like the same game but with improved graphics and gameplay, as well as different worlds and enemies for variety. I'm not complaining, I absolutely love this style of gameplay and had a lot of fun playing through a fresh set of worlds with new guns and classes!

I will say, it's disappointing to also see they haven't improved their storytelling at all. Most of the story is told through history lessons given by characters who seem bored of the story themselves, and anything that happens in cutscenes happens to characters we barely just met, let alone had time to grow attached to. I completely forgot about Ford or Clementine, multiple times, and when the ending happened I just could not care in the least. It really feels like their writers are used to writing for MMOs where the gameplay and story barely intersect because having story happening in game would be very impractical for hundreds of people simultaneously.

I really feel like, if they're going to make souls likes, they should take inspiration from how the souls games uses the gameplay in interactions between the player and their characters. Have Clementine, an in-over-her-head newbie adventurer, show up some times and need bailing out of a tough fight or try to help in a sort of bumbling, nervous way. That's good characterization that invests players into her story and gives opportunities to tell the wider story through her, instead of her just being a human shaped speaker that plays audiobooks full of lore at you.

All that said, this is the closest we're probably ever going to get to a PC Bloodborne port, so I'm satisfied.
