To call Drova "A Gothic 1 clone in pixel art" may sound a bit uncharitable, but it would be hard to argue against the fact that this is the most fitting description of the game

And to be clear this is an inspiration that the developers themselves don't shy away from admitting openly.

The way the relatively-small-but-densely-packed game world is structured (and the content is "gated"), the way the progression system works (level up to gain point, find trainers to spend these points on, etc), the way you are pushed to joining one of the mutually exclusive factions in game...

These are all elements that are borrowed almost 1:1 from the Piranha Bytes' classic. Which is a great thing, given that I loved the source of inspiration and consequently I enjoyed every single minute I spent on Drova.

A must-buy for anyone who is into roleplay games and doesn't have an immediate allergic reaction to the art style.
