Edit: current state of the game is a big no-no

WT is a Love/Hate Relationship
The main issue lies in Gaijin wanting War Thunder to be a certain type of game (namely a cash grab) while the playerbase would like a semi-realistic ww2 simulator.

The Current state of the game is not worth it to new players, unless you are ready to pay 40$ for a premium account and play for a year to maybe reach Mid-Top Tier in the game.

I consider after having played it since its inception and that its worth being free to play and so worth playing for fun, with friends, from time to time, but not worth your time nor your money.

Gaijin is too greedy, too closed up, too out of touch from its community.

With that in mind
Its downsides:
-#01 The devs will try to suck your wallet dry, you would think that with such a playerbase they could be more subtle but no, the Market has gone from a steam workshop lookalike to a cash machine that is worthy of the early days of Battlefront.
-The Balance is a Joke, German tanks are point and shoot, Russian tanks are Op on certain levels while other factions like USA are OP on other. Minor countries get basically nothing but a decent repair price.
-♥♥♥♥♥♥ events resulting in really OP tanks rather than actually rare ones, the result is that it ruin the overall experience (and the Market) simply by making a tank virtually valuable.
-Gosh the elephant in the room: the Grind, be aware that it will consume the heck out of your life.
-The Support is insulting. Period.
-The Communication with the playerbase is attrocious
-The enjoyment of the game is low.

Its Positive sides:
-Great Visuals, whether it's in Mid-Low or Ultra the game is really pleasing and the engine still supports really detailed Virtual Cockpits.
-Constantly Updated, and they do try to fix their main bugs
-"Good" Community in Realistic (take it with a grain of salt)
-Great Models, thats what Wt does best.
-Not Pay to Win in itself if you ignore the event/Market tanks, the only thing that you'll buy will mostly bee cosmetics or Premium tank/planes which wont be THAT more powerfull than the rest of the tank/planes.
Some like the KA-50 or the Prinz Eugen are litterally made to milk loosers at 60 bucks.

Bonus: You can learn new language by playing with the original language voices without changing anything

So in conclusion yeah, War Thunder is a Great Arcade/Simulation Game if you forget about what makes it a terrible cash grabbing grinding machine.
