The best PvPvE shooter out there and one of the most unique fps games I've played!
A lot slower paced than your typical shooter, carrying an air of tension constantly as you go about the 'hunt', just when you think things are going your way some extremely unexpected things can happen; not heard a gunshot for the past 20 minutes? Don't be surprised when a group are waiting in ambush just up ahead.

There's nothing quite like rushing a compound with a bomb lance and having a guy fan all 6 shots at you and somehow misses, only to cleave him in twain, only to have his buddy cook a piece of dynamite and charge the room only to kill the both of you as a result.

Despite the permadeath of your hunters you get to a certain point where you really don't mind it and it's actually pretty hilarious and oddly satisfying having experiences like that; they keep me addicted and coming back to this game despite having matches where I die to a literal god gamer sniping me with a revolver from 100+ metres away. It's all a part of the hunt and you just learn to roll with the punches and know that a more satisfying match is just around the corner.

If you're looking for a different kind of shooter (I barely play FPS games anymore, I don't have the reactions like I used to with things like Counter Strike and this game is perfect), something that combines PvE and PvP in a perfect amalgamation that saturates the experience with tension, gives you an exhilarating rush when things go your way, punishes your failures but keeps you coming back for more; then definitely give Hunt Showdown a shot!
