-Review 9.5/10-
Note: I'm a first-timer to the Final Fantasy franchise, just playing the game as a standalone one.

Hands down the best RPG I've ever played. Personally, I've played Witcher 3 and Skyrim, but FFXV clearly surpasses them in terms of the story and character attachment. I've never felt so connected with the characters and actually felt upset to part with them.

Fights were awesome, especially towards the end of the game where there were multiple boss fights, it felt epic. They incorporated story cleverly into every fight and honestly it touched my heart, making me feel like crying as I knew the game was coming to an end. I'm not fond of extra-difficult games like Dark Souls, so this was perfect for me. A mix of challenge and a versatile combat system. It felt great knowing I can handle bosses since it was challenging, but it never did frustrate me. Seeing your characters grow and yourself getting better felt satisfying.

Story, well, it is the best one I've ever encountered. Every ally and villain made deep impressions, in fact, no character was pointless. So many moments where I just wanted to shed tears, I guess this is why they said this is one of the saddest Final Fantasy games. Not sad in a way where everyone dies, but sad because of the backstory and touching moments. Amazing soundtrack usage by the way. I had to pause the game just to Shazam them. Also, as mentioned earlier, the story is cleverly incorporated into some of the fights.

Scenery was beautiful, like I took 4,000 screenshots throughout the game. There were some scenes or gameplay I didn't want to forget, so I just had to spam F12 continuously, still missed an important one though :( sigh! 3 years later when I look back, I'll probably shed a tear.

Sidequests and Hunting are rather unique. I've only done 1 hunt and it basically feels like a Monster Hunter boss fight. Its huge, its badass and they are all different. Loved how they incorporated this as a side/leisure activity, so I could focus on the main story which was what enticed me.

The director did a good job, pulled off some smart gimmicks towards the end of the game that left an iconic impression in my mind. All in all, 25 hours of goodness.

This game will forever be one of my top favourites. :)
