An absolutely gorgeous game with ruthless difficulty at every step of the way.

As you pace your way through the game, dying countless times, you will start to see the beauty amidst your failures. The game's bosses and mini-bosses are designed to teach you how to improve and become the ultimate shinobi. You may begin the game running away from attacks and then attacking only on obvious openings, but you will be punished over and over again for doing so. As you continue to learn, you will overcome the foes that had endlessly kill you and as you bask in your victory, you will feel a satisfaction like no other.

This game's unique design, attention to detail, interesting story and beautiful scenery make it my number one game of all time. There are very few things that I felt were out of place or unfair. I believe the red-eyed troll should jump off a ledge, but otherwise I loved every bit of this game from beginning to end. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a masterpiece deserving of the GOTY title.
