I was so excited to finally buy this game on the first day of the first major Steam sale since I assembled my first new gaming desktop in 11 years. After watching the intro video, I was ready to get started but was stunned to be presented with a "Game Data Collection Settings" option. I read and re-read the options, confirmed there was no way to opt out of data collection completely, searched online to confirm that there's no verifiable way to opt out, and decided to uninstall and refund the game. It's a shame, too, because it looks amazing, but I refuse to support this type of practice.

Here are screenshots with the details of the Game Data Collection Settings: https://imgur.com/a/x16tO4j

Most people likely won't care, but I'm posting this review to raise awareness that Horizon: Zero Dawn collects data and you can't opt out of data collection.

EDIT: After researching the matter of data collection further, I found this guide for blocking data collection: https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2756447185

I decided to re-purchase the game, this time from another digital storefront, and block data collection. I am leaving this review as Negative because I can't condone ambiguously phrased data collection agreements that don't allow the customer to opt out. If the developer or publisher ever allows customers to opt out of data collection, I'll happily update my review.

The Steam version of Red Dead Redemption 2 requires players to install the Rockstar Games Launcher, Rockstar Games Social Club Framework, Rockstar Games Authentication Software, and Epic Client API in order to play RDR2. (Screenshot proof: https://i.imgur.com/LhdiYY4.png ) There is currently no way to bypass the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Having to use an additional launcher on top of Steam may or may not bother you, but I was unaware of this requirement when I added the game to my wishlist. (Steam currently only shows that a third-party account--no mention of an additional launcher--is required.) I hope this review helps others make a more informed purchasing decision.

I received this game as a gift (and I made certain to say thanks to my very generous friend who gifted me the game), but ultimately decided to mark it eligible for refund.

Critter Crunch is easily one of my favorite puzzle games ever and has earned its place among the ranks of such classics as Puyo Puyo, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and Money Idol Exchanger. The game's gorgeous high-definition 2D art, deep (but not overly complicated) gameplay, varied single player modes, easy learning curve (in Adventure Mode), and thrilling fast-paced competitive play make this a must-buy for hardcore puzzle fans and casual players alike. The game is a terrific deal at full price and it's an absolute steal if you can get it on a sale. Highly recommended!

A charming indie puzzle platformer that plays like a love letter to classic gaming. Looking for the antidote to the flood of 3-color palette (gray, brown, dark brown) grimdark cover shooters and the deluge of shallow App Store clones? Pick up Adventures of Shuggy and remember why you picked up a controller (or keyboard) in the first place.

I am not a fan of the bullet hell genre. I AM a fan of Jamestown. Unlike when playing other bullet hell shmups, I never felt like Jamestown was difficult for the sake of difficulty or taunting my failure to finish a level in some ultra-niche genre. Instead, the Vaunt mechanism, the level design, and the overall tone of the game always seemed to suggest, "You can do it! Try again!" The risk/reward design philosophy behind Vaunt is simple yet brilliant, allowing players to focus on survival or gaining points or a balance between. Perhaps most importantly, the game just /feels/ good to play. Few modern games are this much fun. And don't let the lack of online co-op dissuade you; the single-player experience is fantastic, replay value is great, and the game truly shines when you get one, two, or three friends to play with you on the same screen. There's nothing quite like the rush of victory when you and two buddies narrowly clear a level on Divine difficulty after the third or fourth try.

Part dungeon crawler (with randomly generated dungeons!), part item shop simulation, Recettear is packed with great gameplay, charm, and humor. You don't have to be a RPG veteran to enjoy the humor, though; it's easy to pick up and play!

When this game went on sale during a Steam sale last year, I bought it but didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised: The controls were tight, the online multiplayer was a blast, and the graphics look fantastic even on older computers. This is definitely one of the "hidden gems" of Steam.
