If it were not for the disastrous performance and other technical issues at release, I bet this game would have been received much better. Nowadays, it runs like a charm and it is absolutely beautiful! The interconnected world design is right up there with the likes of Dark Souls. The combat system is deep, has great hit feedback and, as a result, feels very rewarding. The umbral lamp gives you the ability to look into and enter the land of the dead, which adds a really interesting spin to it all. Lorewise, the lamp is also the reason why the player revives upon death. I also like the general theme of heresy in the style of Blaspheomous a bit more than the nihilistic style of Dark Souls. The only point of criticism I have is that there are some "gimmick"-bosses, which are simply not a lot of fun. This also leads into a bit of an anti climactic ending. However, other than that, this game is simply awesome. If you stopped playing at release due to its various technical issues, give it another shot. If you never played it, do it now! Thank me later! 9/10
