Y'know I was going to do a joke review for this game because "haha funny protogen titties" and also cause I did all of this mostly as a bet, but to be honest the game was somewhat enjoyable so I'll give it an earnest review. (mostly cause it's getting a sequel too). I don't play visual novels often either, my last one was Komorebi because it had Shinji Ikari's VA.

I think what My Furry Protogen suffers from is massive exposition dumps and horrid pacing at times. Like I could give a rats ass that i'm the "chosen one", you haven't given me a reason to relate to the character whatsoever. And also at the end it feels incredibly rushed. Do I really need to see FOUR "plot" scenes within the span of 10 minutes, back to back? Unfortunate doesn't even begin to describe how awful that pacing is. Underneath the glaring issues though, it has merit and I believe with the sequel it could be a genuinely good story. The story itself is interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed it throughout, so i'm giving it a positive review since there is a sequel coming out next month. If the exposition dumps were cut down and the "plot" scenes were actually spaced out, I think you've got a nice static visual novel. The art was fairly good, though the backgrounds need to be less blurred, at times I felt my eyes straining.

Overall, I'd give My Furry Protogen a solid 8/10. Could use some work on the story side, with some minor touchups on the art side and the sequel could be an amazing visual novel. Ending was nice too.

First off let me start off with saying My Furry Protogen 2 is a masterpiece and improves on My Furry Protogen 1's shortcomings tremendously. The pacing has improved a whole lot more, the design of Juno has massively improved, and I personally think the story was much richer and built on the first games foundation a bunch. The backgrounds seem to be less blurred, a gripe I had with the original, and there is FINALLY choices too, a massive leap forward. The game overall was much longer too, and I quite enjoyed every moment thoroughly.

I do not have much criticisms of MFP2, but I will say the artwork/designs of some of the characters seem off and don't look up to standard, and it makes it somewhat feel rushed (?). I'd love for the other characters to receive some love too! Other than that I don't have much to criticise about the sequel.

Can't wait for the 3rd game to come out, i'm looking forward to it. I'd give MFP2 a 9/10, great story, solid art, great characters, overall a fantastic sequel to an already great game. Props to the devs for actually addressing the shortcomings of the first game too!
