Such a misstep in the franchise. Source is a game that is fine violence wise for most kids, with the main problem being swear words coming from the toxic community. I think the best way to solve this problem is by making your child turn off their communication, and only talk to their friend via, Call, or Discord. So all in all just don't let children play it, because it does have violence.
