There’s a thought experiment called the “Frog in hot water” – it might be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but allegedly, if you put a frog in a pot of water and bring it to boil, the frog will not jump out, because the heating is gradual. I have no idea why anybody would do that, or whether it’s true, but the principle is exactly how you need to subvert your inner lazy saboteur excusist troll. Boil the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ alive. Slowly, bypassing his notice.
